Born in 1841, John David Willett was the first family member to enter the whiskey business. He worked as a master distiller at various distilleries in and around Bardstown. The following generations kept the tradition alive. In 1936, brothers Johnny and Thompson Willett founded the Willett Distilling Company. They built a
