In unmittelbarer Nhe zur Burg befindet sich die Slane Distillery. Alex sammelte Erfahrung im Bereich Whiskey durch seine Ttigkeit als Brand Ambassador eines namhaften Herstellers und entwickelte im Jahr 2008 die Idee eines eigenen irischen Whiskeys.
